On a typical day, you probably drive to work or run an errand. Most likely, you don't notice the cross slope of the pavement or the vertical and horizontal curves along the road you travel. In fact, most Indiana citizens would be very surprised at the complexity and detail involved in designing roadways that are safe and efficient. The Commonwealth Engineers' Transportation Team designs intricately detailed transportation projects throughout Indiana on a daily basis.

With our Team's wide range of experience in rural, urban, and state transportation projects, we are well versed in the various design parameters, and regulatory and permitting requirements. You can be confident that the Commonwealth Engineers' Transportation Team stays up to date on the latest design standards. We are proud of our ability to effectively coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies to obtain the necessary permits/approvals to construct the designed infrastructure. In addition, our team has invaluable experience in revitalization projects, industrial access projects, INDOT projects, hiking/biking trials, and much more.

At Commonwealth Engineers, it is important to us to produce cost-effective and reliable transportation solutions, keeping our services affordable to all communities. We're also well versed in project funding. In addition, we handle all aspects of project associated documentation, preliminary engineering reports, master plans, studies, permits and project plans and specifications.

Implementation of green infrastructure for public works projects is a fairly new concept that many communities are considering in efforts to become more sustainable. Green infrastructure in the context of public works projects commonly refers to utilizing natural ecological processes that mimic nature in engineered human designs.

Commonwealth is on the forefront of incorporating green infrastructure into projects and we can utilize our expertise and experience with your project. We have been involved with several projects where we have proposed and implemented economical green infrastructure alternatives involving bioswales, vegetated basins, and porous pavement. Many of these alternatives have proven to reduce costs and conserve energy once implemented and put into operation. Members of Commonwealth's staff have been recognized as leaders in the implementation of green infrastructure by the City of Indianapolis, with a member currently serving on the City's Green Building Task Force.
